Walkovers B v Caesareans Juniors

Last Night The B team played there second game of the season against Caesareans Juniors. There was one change from the team that lost to Mavericks with Simon Pugsley coming in for Craig Vibert. Having lost the toss the last 5 times Captain Jake Patel decided to change his tactics and tossed the coin rather than call, this worked instantly with Walkovers B winning the toss and electing to field.

Spencer opened the bowling and along with Hansie were able to keep the juniors in check with 49 runs coming from the first 5 over with the loss of only one wicket. The captain then turned to Dan Cox and himself at which stage the juniors decided to go after the batting with the Jake being hit for 2 consecutive 6’s of his bowling. A flurry of wickets in the next few overs did nothing to stem the tide of runs and with Hansie coming to bowl the last over even he could not escape the punishment. The juniors finishing on 136-5, the bowling figures were:

Spencer 3-29-0
Hansie 3-31-1
Dan Cox 3-31-0
Jake 3-39-3
Extras 6lb

Having been set a formidable total the player of the year last season Simon and the inform batsman this year Matt Cox set about chasing the total, Unfortunately the lack of batting practice by Simon showed and he was dismissed for a second ball duck. This bought in Dan Cox and despite a slow start both brothers start to get on top of the bowling and accumulate the runs. Just when it looked like both brothers were about to retire the both fell in the space of 2 over’s with Matt and then Dan falling for 19 and 23 respectively. This bought in Walkovers B big hitters Hansie and Spencer, unfortunately Spencer could not match his heroics from the last game and fell for 6 which bought in Jake. Hansie with this monster back lift started to find his range and with a few big sixes managed to get the bonus batting point with Walkover B finishing on 117-4.

Simon 0
M Cox 19
D Cox 23
