One of the original members of the Walkovers set-up, Neil has played a part in all of the seasons so far. Due to work commitments, and the fact Neil lives in the UK mainland – he is very much still a part of the squad. Captain in Walkovers’ inaugural season, Neil ended up that season as Player of the Year due to his excellent cricketing abilities.
Neil is a highly competitive cricketer, as much in the field as with bat and ball.
Being over 6ft helps generate pace and bounce when bowling, the opposition struggle to get him away and hence the reason he is so economical with the ball.
He is more than capable with the bat as well, usually used as an opener due to his correct technique and sensible shot selection. His high score of 45 against Yorkies in 2001 reflects more on his unavailability than an inability to reach a half-century – that will surely come in time.
